KUSADASI CRUISE PORT

Port Location: Kusadasi can be found on the Aegean coast in Turkey and is predominately known as a resort town that is popular due to its location and the fact that it is close to Ephesus, an ancient Roman city.

Transport: If you find yourself at the Port of Kusadasi then you do not have to worry too much about transport as it is a town that is easily navigated by walking. Although your cruise liner way put on a shuttle service and taxis are available in the vicinity should you need them.

Description: Kusadasi is predominately recognized as a tourist port as opposed to one that is focused on commercial activities however it does serve as an important trading entry to the region even if the majority of the ships are tourist based.

Sightseeing and Excursions: What is there to do in the resort? One of the more curious excursions is the Guvntcin Adasi; an island that can be reached from the mainland by a footbridge and is an ancient fortress complete with museum and many of the original buildings still standing.

The fact is that the Port of Kusadasi more or less serves as an entry point to the aforementioned Roman city of Ephesus. It is only 30 miles or so away and really is a historical tour not to be missed. The Library of Celsus is surprisingly intact and you can marvel at the architecture and structure of the building; the Great Theatre is also present and you can see how audiences would gather here for speeches and events as much of the original structure is still there even given the large number of tourists that come every year.

Beaches: Given that Kusadasi is a resort town then it is normal to expect there to be beaches of note. Kadinlar Denizi is probably the most popular beach in the locale and is accessible via bus or taxi.

Shopping: You won’t find any of the modern, commercial outlets in this little resort but what you will get is traditional Turkish merchandise and everything from rugs to fabrics, perfume and gold is available in the town. Indeed, it is here that you can put your haggling skills to the test as it is a well-known fact that having a strong composition can end up seeing you getting your item for considerably less than the marked price.
